While my '02 Vert was on order I had a Smoothline hard top drop shipped to my body shop and was all set when I took delivery. It's a cool top, looks great. But my C3 two top mindset wasn't needed with the advanced top from the factory on the C5, so after sitting in the overhead of the garage, not being used I sold it after a year and a half.
I think you'll find a lot of stories like old55 relates.
Most of the members that I know in the DFW area bought them early on - used them a few times and now they reside on the 'pulley system' most rigged up on the garage ceiling.
I know of three that are in this category. Most say it is too much hassle to install them - and like a number of owners they don't drive the Vette during inclement weather
Thanks. That's what I figured. I had a removable hard top for my MB 450SL, and it was a pain to put off and on as well. I also didn't like keeping the soft top folded up for long periods of time when the HT was installed. But, I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way. Thanks again.
