So, a friend drives a Nissan Altima 3.5. Tonight, I followed him across town, and he wanted to see how his car stacked up against the Corvette. I got on it pretty good from 0-65 (on the interstate), but good sense (and the fear of a speeding ticket) intervened, and I didn't try to keep up with him after that. For the rest of the night, he just went on and on about how he "smoked" meI was actually pretty funny to me, as I knew the truth. I do have to admit, though, that Altima was pretty danged quick off the line, and seemed pretty fast from 65 on up, too. Anyway, I was pretty tempted to give him a run for his money. So, how do the rest of you resist the temptation to open your cars up in similar situations??? Or DO you???
Another way you can resist the temptation is thinking of having to post on the "Nissan Altima Forum" after you lose the Corvette. THAT would certainly be a lot of fun, eh?

Besides the fact that I could kill myself or someone else...I think about how hard I've worked to get to this point in my life and what I stand to loose financially if something goes bad or if I get caught. Sure I've done some stupid things in my past but I KNOW I'm older and HOPE I'm wiser so street racing is just not worth it to me.
Now...that being said...see if your friend will go to the track and I'll bet you smoke his azzz!
Why risk it on the street with a car that has 260-270 HP (depending on teh year) and even less torque and weights the same as your car. It seems to me that physics dictates that in a real race he would not even be close.
