traction control help!

Hello all! I am getting a warning light for my traction control in the speedo and a code in the DIC. The code is C1287.... I looked it up at the list available here on the forum. The code says steering sensor rate malfunction. The funny thing is that this ONLY happens when it is raining.

I seem to remember something about a sensor that has a rubber shield.... has anybody seen this issue and how can I fix myself it without the dreaded corvette tax!

Use the search feature and type in "C1287" --- lots of threads on the subject. Seems like the most common answer is replace steering position sensor.

As always forum members point me in the right direction! Wish there was an internet and corvette forum back in the 70's when I broke my 1969 big block every other week!
