I've made my own on other cars...believe me, they don't fit as well as these do! The hard part about the DIY version is mounting and fitment well enough to accomplish the goal. But, if you can do it, great.

CAn't be too hard, looks simple enough, we'll see. Wonder why no one makes it from thick plastic? Does it have to be metal?
I would think it has to do with durability, maybe the cost of plastic production (?)...your car breathes through that point. Everything and anything can get sucked up there against your expensive aluminum radiator.
Where I am in AZ, tumbleweeds can go penetrate all kinds of materials at highway speed...roadkill would be a whole other issue.
On the DIY versions I previously made, I used 1/4" square mesh in a galvanized material. You have to be careful with the edges to protect the paint. The galvanized mesh (HOME DEPOT or LOWE'S) looked pretty nasty after a couple of years, but it's a good project if your goal is to save money for fuel.
Someone told me there is a screen available to install under the front of the car to prevent road debris from glogging the air intake?
I went to menards and got a screen door protector and took the frame off and cut it to the size of the opening under the radiator and then with what I had left I made my fender vent screens. It cost me about twenty two dollars for the part and the screens in the fenders look like the ones you see on ebay.

Now your talking!!! How did you mount the radiator screen, and lets see some pics?
