Clearcoat Rotor hats?

Good question! I have painted many hats with high temp. engine or exhaust paint and they worked out pretty good. However the brake dust eventually seems to discolor them. I may try some kind of clear coat next time around. Good luck.

I've had mine for 2+ years and they still look new. Once a year at the end of the season I take the wheels off and clean them ....that's it.

After reading this Forum, I purchased a set of the Sportbrake Cross Drilled and Slotted rotors. They are zinc washed. I clear coated the center hats on all four rotors with Hi-temp clear after reading several posts with members upset that their zinc washed rotor hats were rusting. Several brands of rotors were noted. I have had the Sportbrakes on for over a year now and no rust. I would not chance it. In my opinion, it is worth the little bit of extra time to clear coat if you want to keep them looking like new. Good luck with it.
