Default PSI question

Just moved from the Goodyear F1's to Michelin PS2's. I know in the Goodyear's they were suppose to be set at 30psi cold. Should I run the Michelin's at the same setting?

That's what I am running in my PS2's and they are holding up quite well.

Run the same 30 psi in any OEM size tire you put on the car. By regulation all tires in the same class have to meet Federal Standards and carry a certain weight at a certain PSI. The numbers molded on the side of a tire just note the individual tire's max numbers and not the numbers in the standards.

I'm sometimes on a certain truck forum...one of the members there asked a similar question regarding tires on his new truck.
I was surprised that so many people think the maximum tire pressure marked on the sidewalls is what they think they should inflate their tires...and they wonder why the ride is so rough and they wear out $600 in tires so quickly.

As a general rule, here's what I do on all my cars.

As a baseline #,I like 30 PSI. I'll take 30psi X 4 tires =120 lbs per car.

With the Z's front-to-rear weight dist of 53/47.

53%X120=64 PSI for the front=32psi each.
47%X120=56 PSI for the rear=28psi each.

More air where the weight is and less for the rear.

Works well for me for everyday driving.

That's my opinion.
