Default Blackwing installed

Installed the Blackwing, easy install, the car does pull harder. What about cutting out some of that panel just under the blackwing or drilling some one inch holes in it to draw in some cooler air from the bottom? LT

In past discussions, some suggest that drilling holes or cutting the shroud would "confuse" the MAF/computer as the intake would still be drawing warm engine compartment air as well as the cooler outside air.
You could add Z06 type openings to allow in more outside air or cut holes in your fog light housings to allow in more outside air.
If you want a "cold air intake" as opposed to your current "cooler air intake", you could cut the shroud and cover the BLACKWING with what is referred to as an "ice box" cover. It's a plastic or carbon fiber cover designed specifically for the BLACKWING which encloses it from the warm engine compartment air, allowing only outside air to enter.
Caveat, some have experienced lean bank codes and/or surging when this cover modification is completed. I experienced annoying lean bank codes with mine that probably would've been resolved with a 300 mile round trip and $500 dyno tune. I decided to remove the system and return to the oem Z16/Z06 intake.

I drilled out the fog light housing with a 1/2 inch drill bit,
looks like swiss cheese. Then I put on Z06 screens and it's all good.

Did that a couple years ago. I couldn't remember who posted all the info originally though. I just don't have the wire mesh screen and I added additional aluminum strips on the top side for additional bracing since there is a lot of flex of the shroud during use.
BTW, that mod DOES involve a "hole" right?

I cut my Factory Foglight shrouds on a bandsaw to try and help out my blackwing after I installed it...free mod, except for the time involved...they were pesky lil things to get out and back in.

I've got a Blackwing and didn't drill any holes.

That is what I would recommend!

You'll get a gulp of fresh air that way!

Or you could of got the VARARAM and got fresh air from the front of the Vette!

Cutting it is not a big deal i's quite simple! I did it to mine before I went with the VARARAM

Thanks,Matt
