C5 Window Tinting - yes or no
In Austin you have got to have some tint on the windows; I had mine done with medium high-quality tint and have had no problems. The key is to use a reputable shop that uses quality tint. My prior C4 peeled on one corner after a few months and the dealer would not warranty it because I did not have the original receipt. Needless to say I told everyone I could about how they treated me so they could make their own decision.
The only thing i have to add about this that im very surprised that it hasnt been brought up earlier is that the back window is too big for one sheet of tint to cover, so it has to be spit. only very experienced tinters can do this without having it visible inside or out. i was very hesitant, and made the tinter show me pics of other c5s he tinted before i would give him mine to do. he hid the line behind one of the defrost lines, and im pleased for the most part.
I think i paid 220 for 13% and couldnt be happier with the looks. personally i dont see how anyone could not like the looks of darker windows, especially on silver, white or black vehicles.

I recently had my vert windows tinted with the new ceramic tint. I think its called huber somthing or other. The tint shops should know who the maker is and if they don't have it, find out who does. It really cuts down on the heat from the sun. I live in Houston and it tends to get a little warm here. The tint job for the vert costs $250 and is well worth the extra money. This stuff blows the really dark tints away. I believe they only make it in 30% but wow what a diference. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

I recommend a light tint to maintain factory look. Also the back window is very hard to tint and I don't know how energy the person will put on it for $120. (I paid $220 and that was the lowest price in san diego-- the back window took 2-3 hours.)
The guy who did my truck was so slick. He did it in 20 minutes and did not have any bubbles. He said the back window will be one piece and will warranty his work. This guy does all the tinting for police undercover vehicles in central and eastern PA. I will let you know with pics when I get it done in Sept. Thank for all the excellent advice, I appreciate it!

Having black seats and no tint in Florida is not fun.
