Enjoy, but check your emotions when it comes to deciding on the deal. A good salesman will take you for thousands more than you should pay if he can tap into that giddiness.

How old are you, I had 3 dealers tell me to **** off when I bought my Z. One lost the key to their lock box, another left me standing outside for 30 minutes just looking at one, another blew me off and actually almost yelled at me when I asked for the price. I didn't even drive my Z before I bought it from the guy I did private party, because I didn't want to make him nervous about me driving it at my age. Consider yourself lucky that you could drive it. Now I laugh when I drive my Z down to the dealership because the sales people fall all over themselves to talk to me. Just crazy when I look back on it.

sales dude treated me like crap too. he wouldn't let me drive it at all unless I was ready to take it home with me that day. completely blew me off. I went to another dealership and I got the kind of service I felt like I deserved. the first question he asked me is do you want to take it for a spin? the sad thing is that as much as I liked their service that vette had the wrong kind of tranny in it, the kind that shifts without me telling it to. it also had visible signs of abuse and had a repo on its carfax. I ended up buying the car from the lot which treated me like crap. I really wanted to do it because I was so angry at them. but they had the perfect car. nice color, 6 speed, all options, and in a price range I could live with. the jerk wouldn't let me get my gf's input on it because he refused to let us take it out alone, so she couldn't come along at all. he wouldn't even let me drive it at first so the first 1/2 of my test drive I was in the passenger's seat. I know it was an age thing. he thought I was just some kid who wanted to play with a vette without any intention of buying it. It still angers me that the perfect c5 was on that particular lot. as long as it wasn't too much I would have been willing to pay more for the same car at another place just because of the way I Was treated. the car is in excellent shape but has a few miles on it, the final price was $20k and this was a GMC hummer lot which sells mostly $50k-$80k SUV's compared to those the C5 wasn't that expensive. not to mention that he admitted they were having trouble selling it! it was right around Christmas time and they had it there for over a month before I bought it...Hall Auto in Virginia Beach man, don't waste your time with them!

I'm not going to name any names, but my worst experience was with a small dealership specializing in only corvettes. It is in the hills near Diamond Bar. Sad thing is my vette was purchased through their dealer(I immediately recognized it) and the guy I bought it from left the dealer plate frame on it. I went home that same night, removed it, and threw it away. Way to burn someone who could buy another 10-20 vettes in his lifetime
