So nobody knows where the cash goes now that this is a corporate enterprise? I can see chipping to help a poor webmaster with bandwidth costs, but a corporation?

You know - if you are that concerned with it, maybe you should send a PM to Troy Roberts (that's his screen name too) and ask.

Because of my participation here - I have learned so much about owning a Corvette. I knew nothing when I first started out (though I thought I knew it all.) Because I had the opportunity to spend time around people that had so much knowledge, but more importantly, were willing to share that knowledge - I am richer for the experience.

Because of this site - I have made friends with some of the best people I have ever met - even though I have only met them online. Just take a look at the thread that was started in OT by cor07vette about meeting the parents of Mike Holt (Welladjusted). Take a look at what this site does for St. Jude's. Take a look at all of the other threads over the course of a year that demonstrate the humanity of the people that are members here. I want to be a part of that.

Frankly - I don't come here looking for answers anymore. I rarely feel the need to ask a question - I only come here for a couple of reasons. I come here to be with my friends, and I come here hopefully to offer a little help and sometimes to offer a little bit of sarcastic humor.

I hope you find whatever you're looking for, and it sounds like this site isn't giving that to you. Best of luck where ever you go to find it.

This is just my opinion too.

You go Randy Noone else says it quite as eloquently as you man

Thank you Lori, Wayne and Stephen. For the rest of you - it's folks like these three and several others too numerous to mention that make this site what it is.

If you've ever spent time on any other enthusiasts site - whether it is for another vehicle or premium wristwatches....whatever - you'll realize pretty quickly that what goes on here is very special. Overall with a few exceptions, this forum is made up of people that genuinely care about each other and for the most part treat each other with a lot of respect. We don't always have to agree, but we always have to treat each other with courtesy and respect.

In times of need - the people that make up this forum, come together and really pull for each other. Sometimes it's donating time, others it's donating money, and sometimes it's simply an encouraging word. When I see what these folks are capable of giving, it makes me proud to say that I am a member of the Corvette Forum.

It doesn't take me writing a check for me to get something out of the site. When members ask for help or opinions, I'm GLAD to give my two cents, as I have gotten so much info from all of you and want to give back to the members. It is no secret that the ads and vendors MORE than pay for the site upkeep and bandwidth and, get this, they EVEN turn a profit off the site. Some of the rules on this site are ridiculous, but it doesn't mean I'm not going to frequent here, it also doesn't mean I am not going to ask for help or opinions or give help or opinions. I also don't agree with how some of the Vendors treat members on here, yet as long as CF gets their check, they remain supporting vendors despite numerous complaints and issues concerning members.

All that being said, I still enjoy this site, the people/members I have 'met' and the camaraderie of owning the greatest American sports car ever built. I never said I didn't enjoy the site, most its members and vendors, it's just that I don't agree with some of the way things are done here and thus won't be writing a check to get some stars under my name. Its a public forum and all 'Internets peoples' are welcome to frequent it. Until they require a payment, I will be one of those 'peoples'.

Would you write a check to the Democratic Presidential election fund if you were a Republican and didn't agree with the Democratic views?

The bandwagoning around here is also pretty silly.....

I couldn't agree more that there are MANY, MANY special members like the one's you mentioned above and many more, that make this site a great place for information, parts, services, etc. and is why I will continue to be a member. My only point was that I will not be contributing dollars to a site that I do not agree with its 'business plan' and rules and regulations that turns a profit as well.
