maybe a week ago I found a spring on the floor and was wondering where it came from, well that just may have been where it came from

Cupholder door spring
I took the rubber bottom out of my cupholder to clean things, and the door spring popped out. I didn't notice how it went back, and for the life of me, can't figure it out. Anybody know?
The spring is a piece of about quarter-inch wide by two inches long spring steel, two holes in it, and legs at a 90-degree angle.

From the picture, looks like mine may have broken off. I might try a couple of screws to see if I can reattach it. Not a very good attachment method GM used ....
