Default Cupholder door spring

I took the rubber bottom out of my cupholder to clean things, and the door spring popped out. I didn't notice how it went back, and for the life of me, can't figure it out. Anybody know?

The spring is a piece of about quarter-inch wide by two inches long spring steel, two holes in it, and legs at a 90-degree angle.

Maybe somebody could take a peek at theirs and tell us how it's done, or what it looks like when it's installed.

Looks like the metal is riveted to the console somehow.

From the picture, looks like mine may have broken off. I might try a couple of screws to see if I can reattach it. Not a very good attachment method GM used ....
