Default Removing emblem from nose?

I have been thinking of removing the emblem from the nose and trunk of my car. Any idea what is holding these things on? And will it damage the paint?

Thanks,

yea real easy to remove you can use dental floss or fishing line or a hair dryer to warm up the double sticky 3M that hold it in place just start at on end work your way to the other..on a hot sunny day in SC I pulled off my buddies side moldings with relative ease..then get some goo gone or somethign similar to remove left over stickyness...oh and if done correctly it will not damage anything then you have a spare emblem to mount somewhere else...

I believe the trunk is sticky taped whereas the nose is attached by holders thru 2 holes.

Might be different on the Z06 but my '99FRC had two mounting holes under the front emblem when I removed it.

There are two locator holes in the bumper cover. The emblem has two pins to line up with the holes.

Sure, do not have the car for the bumper cover but here are pictures of a new GM emblem fresh out of the bag. 02 Z06 if it matters.
