In Maryland, every two years you need an emissions test. So two years ago I took my Vette in and it passed easily. But since then I lowered it approximately 1 1/4 inches. In Frederick, they have three bays to drive through, all of them equipped with rollers (or dynos as they call them) that you have to drive over. Two years ago my Vette almost touched these rollers as they drove over them. The other day when I pulled up the guy was checking out my car and I said "It will not clear the rollers. Do not smack the bottom of my car." I told the guy he could drive it around and back it in to hook up his computer. He said "no, we can't do that." He then said the only thing he can do is exempt the car for two years. At that time, they may remove the rollers out of one of the bays. So my car is exempt for two years and they didn't charge me for it. SRS
that's awesome! but do the cops agree that means you're exempt? what kind of docs did they give you?
THEY GAVE ME A FORM #EP-030(05-05).
It said ,this notice must be kept in the vehicle.
It states that I'm in compliance with VEIP through 09/30/2009.
At that time if they still have all the bays with rollers
I will get another Extension/Release form. SRS
