Eventually I'm going to put a full exhaust on my car. Right now however, I'd just be happy to get some more sound out of the stock system. I was wondering if anyone had cut out the stock mufflers and what it sounds like?
You can install by-pass sections between main pipes and the closest exhaust pipe, do a search for pics and advice. I did it and it came out great. One of the best/inexpensive mods!
Basically your looking at "muffler eliminators", I had them on my 92 (C4)Lingenfelter, worked out great, took away the look of them garbage cans hanging out back, I personally havent seen any for the C5,but Im sure a quality muffler shop can easily cut and bend a simple replacement piece in place of the muffler, or as mentioned , do a search.
Did a search. Already knew what the AA mod was. I was asking about removing the mufflers all together. I imagine they'll be some drone, but I think I can handle it until I can afford to buy a catback. (Which, jrose, is why I'm not just buying a catback).
