omar, I agree with you that we C5er's will likely be biased as will C6er's. But, I don't think one would disagree that the rear visibility of the C6 is horrible. For clarity, when I say "real visability", I am specifically talking about when you turn your head to see out the rear and side windows. Granted, the C5 has those big rear pillars. However, I sat in a C6 once and because the *** on the thing is so high, you can't see well when looking back.

I have a C5 and my buddy has a C6... we double dated one night and he suggested that we swap for the drive home. We kept our same wives... just traded cars. Other than a noticable acceleration advantage in the C6 (due to more ponies under the hood), they handled almost identically. I liked that acceleration, but I wouldn't trade him even up for my C5 because -- and I know others will disagree -- I like the looks of the C5 better than the C6. I guess it's just a matter of personal taste.

My car has grown on me over the years. I drove a c6 at the dealership while my car was getting worked on, I almost felt like I was cheating on it. After about half an hour of telling the sales person how much I love my car, he finally got the idea that I wasn't overwhelmed by the c6 like he thought I was going to be.

I have both a a C-5 ('99 Coupe, MM6, Black/Black and "07 MR Coupe, 3LT, Z51, MM6). The '99 is my daily driver and the '07 is my weekend car. I find that the '99 is easier to drive. I'm speaking steering and general handling. In the mountains is much easier and seems to glue to the roads, although to be fair here, I'm not using run-flats on it rather GY D-3's. The '07 has the original GY Supercar tires on it. The '07 has a lot of get-up-and-go over the '99. What I do notice right off is the '07's steering requires more effort. I don't know what option package my '99 has since I cannot find the window sticker for it but it appears to be loaded from what I can tell other than no electric shocks. I've spent a lot of time in the '99 over the years and I'm the only owner and currently its at 294,000 miles so I'm still getting use to the '07 but I love the 3LT options within and the awesome power.

The first time I sat in a C6 at Carlisle 04 I knew the C5 was the better Corvette...............and still is.The only thing better about the C6's is horsepower. And that can be bought for all our C5's. Save the Wave. >George

Here's my take on the C-6 vs. C-5....

C-5 has stying from the Stingray, and has more ques to reflect previous models with design and construction. Can always sup up the engine to match the C-6.

The C-6 is a cross-over to reflect the current exotics and drawn people over from Porsche and other foriegn sports cars, however I do see C-1 fender flares(holes) and reflection to the C-5 slightly, but it's lost it's curves!

I was curious myself this past weekend. Had an "interesting" experience with a local dealer http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1788684

That aside, the C6 was smoother. Shifts were easy, clutch was light and vibrations were minimal.

Styling wise, the C6 doesn't wow me. Perhaps it will grow on me more, but for now it is okay - not enough to make me want to upgrade. I wasn't that impressed with the interior - to me it wasn't much improved as I had heard and in some respects seemed a bit more plastic-y.

In terms of power, if it had significantly more, I would be tempted, but it didn't feel that much different. I prefer the C5 given everything and might add some performance mods. Or maybe the 08 with the LS3 will win me over?
