Brake Pad Thickness/Wear Sensor?

I am in the middle of installing new rotors and pads. My question is does the pad with the thinkness/wear sensor go on the inside or outside of the caliper? Or does it even matter? My existing pads had the sensors on the inside of the caliper, but in the instructions that came with the pads there is a picture that looks like they are on the outside. Also...does any one have the torque specs for the caliper mounting bolts and bracket mounting bolts handy?

Caliper Bracket Front and Back 125 lb ft
Caliper guide pin bolt 23 lb ft

Normally the sensors go on the caliper piston side.
