Default Am I getting old? lol

I have a 2002 Z06 with the mods in the sig. I recently bought a stock Ti catback and ditched the borla.... my next mods consist of a Thunder Racing ported LS6 oilpump, adjustable timing chain, underdrive pulley, and a new cam. I currently have an MS4 (239/242 .649"/.609" 111 LSA) and am going with a Patrick G custom cam from LS1tech. It's significantly smaller lift and duration wise but should significantly raise the dynamic compression ratio. My goals are better drivability and at the same time more low and midrange without sacrificing too much top end, and a better overall driving experience. I will before too long have Tony Mamo port my FAST and LS2 TB for a bit more oomph.

Anyone else find themselves wanting more from their car and tired of loud exhaust and bucking and snorting when the car is cold at low rpms?

Maybe I'm just getting old!

I am running a milder cam G5X1, but i found a cure for the Borlas. It's called a 3.3Liter Whipple.

took all the drone out of the Borlas...never had any buckng and snorting...that can be tuned out you know...

And I'm an old fart

Yep, you're getting old

When I used to work on muscle cars I went for loud exhaust and radical cams. When I modded my Z I left the stock Ti and put a mild performance cam in

I know I could gain 20+HP with a more agressive cam but if the car is annoying to drive what's the point. When I decide it's time for even more power I'll look to maintain good manners and drivability.

Big cams become headaches if the tuner doesn't know what he's doing. Sounds like you need to get to a better tuner because I have heard a couple of MS4's and all of them run and idle wonderfully.

Shoot... I'm 25 (26 in a few weeks) and have considered putting Ti's back on.

It really depends on when I'm driving it.... if I'm out playing on the weekend I want it just how it is. But if it's a 7am commute (I have a daily driver truck) it's not so much fun.

Seems that everytime I get close to putting Tis back on someone goes out of their wat to tell me how incredible the car sounds.

RJW... any ideas as to how the whipple could affect a muffler's muffling properties?

I noticed a change when I installed my maggie...the 1.4 to 2k drone that was driving me crazy was about half gone.

With the 3.3L whipple, it is now totally gone.

I will be shooting some in car video soon, and hopefully you will hear it or NOT hear it.

My wife and I can now talk at normal volumes while cruising down the road at normal speeds.!!!

it's all about sound waves. While I wasn't looking for it, I just lucked into it.

Maggie installs on other cars that I have done, usually made things a lot louder and not just the added maggie scream.
