I have a 1999 C5 6 speed stock Vette, that I am spraying 125 HP wet nitrous shot that kicks in @ 3500 RPMs. I am now using BF Goodrich 295/35/18 drag master radial tires, running @ 20PSI. My time I am told is slow compared to the trap speed and the tires break loose shifting gears when the nitrous is on. How does the ET sound compared to the trap speed and should I be running the tires softer?
R/t .229
60' 2.318
330 5.755
1/8 8.459
MPH 91.83
1000' 10.779
1/4 12.726
MPH 118.57
Also to increase power and still keep the car together as a daily driver are headers the next best option?

I'm new to Vettes but I know drag racing. You're 60 ft time is terrible. With those tires you should be able to pull at least a 1.85 (being conservative). Just that would put you into the 11's. Your MPH is definitely high enough to support an 11 second pass as well. Try airing down the tires a few pounds and make sure to really get them hot. Do a John Force burnout if you have to. Before you spend another $ on mods you should get your driving down first. You could probably drop a second off that ET just by launching the car better.
This is an art that takes plenty of practice, thats why the Corvette Challenge Series has been growing for the past 6 years or so. A great event to come out & learn to drag race from the ones that do it all the time. And the lessons are free!
has anyone compared their times with the gas tank filled slightly below a half tank vs mostly full? ie does the add'l weight aid the launch time more than the disadvantage of carrying the additional weight down the track?
