Difference in exhaust
What is the difference in the exhaust on a coupe and a Z06? Is there a difference in sound or what?
Thanks...

The Z06 exhaust is titanium and freer flowing the the C5 exhaust. There is a more aggressive sound to the Z06 exhaust as well but not a lot.

Only the hood seal can give you that much more hp.

Also other than in '01 the coupe/vert system has 2 more cats (total 4) opposed to the Z's 2 cats per car.
PS, I just recently learned of the '01 Z06 having 4 cats. I think later in the year the change happened as not all '01s have 4 cats.

I just put a Bassani X pipe and Z06 OEM exhaust on my 2000 C5. Slight difference in sound, not much. Better, but not enough - in my opinion. As to performance gains, couldn't tell me of a difference.

Lighter
a tad more deeper agressive sound than the regular C5
it's made out of titaniumum
tips are round more than oval, and are polished
some have said it flows a bit more free, but not enough to gain any noticable HP

GM claims they are free'r flowing; but without 405 HP trying to tax the system, it might not make any HP difference on a stock LS1.
