Default More Problems!!!

Earlier, I posted about intermittent problems with the driver seat not moving back to the memory recall position. I was going to be quite content simply turning this feature off and leaving the seat alone upon exit from the vehicle.

Well, now the passenger side window does not work, at all! I checked the fuses and they are fine. The car is in excellent condition and I wouldn't think the window motor is burnt out...I'm at 26K on a 2003 Z06.

While I was fiddling with the window, I noticed something I hadn't seen before. The window does not go all the way up. I noticed on the driver's side that the window, when completely up, slips back under the trim forming a complete seal. On the passenger side, the window stops short leaving about 1/4 to 1/8 inch gap between the glass and the seal. Luckily, the car is a garage queen so rain water has never been an issue. The gap is so small that it would probably have to be a heavy driving rain to be of any concern but is a defect nonetheless.

I have always noticed a rushing wind noise coming from the passenger side door/window area at higher speeds and now I know what it is, the incomplete seal. I have also suspected the car may have been damaged on the passenger door side because I have noticed the paint on the inside of the door frame area around the lock housing is of a rougher texture than that on the same area of the driver's door. The car checked clean when I bought it showing no history of damage/repair but we all know that doesn't shelter it from a do it yourself type job.

Anyway, the latter is all academic as I'm more than satisfied with the car. I just don't like one problem turning into another and, God forbid, another!

Any thoughts/suggestions on further diagnosing the window problem are most welcome! Even if it's to tell me to go and replace the window motor

Check your battery cables and grounds. Also have your battery tested with a load test. If you keep having problems put out a call for Bill Curlee he is VERY TOUGH on electrical problems. Good luck

Thanks Gray Beard!

Checked the battery, it's all good.
