Any way to get out vibration noise? I have a B&M but a freind has a Hurst with the same noise when we shift at high RPM.

I have a C6 Z06 shifter. When I installed it, I made a home made gasket that fits between the tranny and the shifter. Seems to work pretty well.

I bought very thin gasket material from the auto parts store and cut is with an X-acto.

I put it between here

and here

The pictures were hijacked from CF member Patches thread on installing a Hurst or other short throw shifter.

Neither my stock C5 shifter or the C6 shifter came with a gasket. Patches mentions a gasket but I don't know if there was one for your kit or not.

Hope this helps.

Did you just put it in?

I put one in about a month ago, and it made a noise during high RPM shifts for a few weeks.
I think its broke in now, it doesn't make the noise anymore.

I wrapped rubber hose around the shaft and got the gripper shift ****. Totaly eliminated rattles associated with vibration and looks better.

Thanks for the info I thought I read a thread in here about putting a copper washer in a place, anyone know anything about that?

Search in the C5 Tech forum, using keywords "anti venom (washer) modification" or "shifter washer"...basically, a 3/4" ID copper washer is placed under the detent bolt on the transmission, allowing the shifter to feel less stiff. It has nothing to do with noise coming from the shifter mechanism, however.
Here's one past post...
