I thought I would share this.
A few weeks ago I was driving to work doing about 50 and there was a bird in the road. Slowed down and moved to the left. Bird moved to the left. Moved to the right and bird moved to the right. Damn thing has wings, why didn’t it fly. Well I heard the bump (it was something the size of a crow). I figured it was vacuumed into the front radiator and that when I got home I would pull the dead bird parts out. Got under the car and nothing. No bird no feathers nothing. Figured it bounced and become road kill. A few days later I noticed feathers on my passenger wheel. Figured then it hit something and feathers just flew around. I had just put on breaks and break dust was abound and after a few weeks I washed, waxed, and cleaned the wheels. I stuck my hand in and pulled out a dried out crow and two wings. GROSS. I figure it got into the cooling duct and from there blown into the wheel where rotating forces forced the for sure dead bird against that 1 foot wide wheel. How disgusting.
Well to Carlisle Sunday.
Be well all.

That's sort of funny... actually similar story during love bug season down here hords of them plow through the brake duct vent and hit that hot caliper and wheel, it just fries them in place! Stinks too.
Saw the ducks going across the road a few weeks ago. About 15 of them to a little pond on the other side. A week later 2 dead ducks in the middle of the road. Some A$$ just wanted to see if he or she could run 'em down. Outside of Galena, IL, as you approach the old town area are real highway signs saying DUCK CROSSING. When I worked in Gaithersburg you would see a family of ducks, mama and maybe 8 or so ducklings stopping traffic on 355 a main thoroughfare.

I had a bird fly into my air intake on my GSXR 1000. Didnt have screens in and it went half way to the airbox. Got it on video too, since we were out screwing around.

Go up to Indiantown Gap, Pa--near Carlisle. Signs on roads read "Tank Crossing." Neat pic too.
I always wanted one of them, but you know they gots to have cameras there. Besides, that is federal property cause of the base. Not worth the risk just to be cool. Might have been a diff story when I was a teenager.
You are now inducted into the "Road Kill" Hall of Fame with that one! I once struck an Owl on my Honda 450 Metric Motorcycle back in about 1974 at 90 MPH and all I could see was Owl Talons! You are lucky you had a Corvette wrapped around you!
