Does anyone have a sound clip of thier car with JUST an x pipe and Corsa Pace Car system?
I know everyone and thier mother has clips of thier cars with longtubes and no cats, but I'm trying to gauge what my car would sound like if I kept it CA legal. I have an x-pipe and the Corse Touring right now, and its decent, but not loud enough for me.

Well I don't have a clip for you, but here is my view: with P/C and Borla X i cannot believe how quiet the car is at idle and cruise. But when I get on it about half pedal it roars; WOT lookout...you don't want to be standing right behind my rear. So, it is a trade off because I kinda miss the louder idle rumble of the BBs I replaced.

I would really love to hear it in person. Maybe someone in the area has that setup.
The only reason I'm skeptical is because I bought my Corsa Touring used from someone. He said it was SO LOUD, blah blah blah... I guess he has sensitive hearing? Cuz they aren't loud at all.
I installed a WCC Tru-X Pipe & P/C Mufflers on my 02 Z when I 1st got it. The muffler shop I use said he's heard the Touring mufflers before, and the P/C's were much louder. I recently added AR L/T's w/ catted X Pipe, and it sounds awesome! Corsa does have sound clips on there website. A x pipe wouldn't make the exhaust louder, just less burbly like a motor boat. Here's a clip of my car w/ LT's, catted x, & P/C's.
Sorry, no sound clip, wouldn't know how to make one. But I can tell you that a Corsa Pacecar system on a stock 02 Z system makes 89.5 decibles measured from 50 ft coming out of turn 12 at PIR just before you hit fourth gear. Switch to long tubes and the Corsas or Borlas and you're talking 96 + decibles and the meatball flag at 6:00 p.m.

Well, yes that would be best. Here's a lttle story that might help. When we put the system on there was an ex-cop in the shop with his grandson. He said he just bought an 02 C5 and wanted to put a new system on it. I told the mechanic to start the car. He starts it and lets it idle...the cop says, he was hoping for a lot more growl than that. I said, I'm telling you, this is the one to get! These are replacing my B&Bs that were too quiet. I said, listen again as I get behind the wheel. I take it to the rev limiter!!! Holy crap!! Everyone starts pouring into the shop area! The cop has a big smile on his face and gives me the thumbs up. He said, let me get my grandson in here! He brings the kid in and they are standing right behind the pipes. I give it WOT and blow them away. It is such an awesome thing to hear this system come alive. Another thing I like is at 90 mph cruising, there is this awesome hum going on that is very hypnotizing...makes you want to keep in right in that zone. Hope this helps!

Would my car still sound like that with the stock exhaust mainfold? I'd love to get longtubes, but that won't fly in CA.

The meatball flag is waved for defective equipment, your car's on fire, you have something coming loose, OR You're TOO LOUD. PIR switches from a 105 decible limit to a 90 decible limit at 6:00 pm. on weekends.
Seattle has similar restriction on the weekdays and Laguna Seca is pretty much 90 dbs all the time. Pretty soon we'll all be racing electric cars.
I had the Indy Pace Car System on my 03. Sounded great at idle and real throaty. Friday at Carlisle I had the X pipe installed and it quieted down a lot. I wanted to get rid of the popping and it did that. Still sounds throaty but not like before installing the X pipe.
I really wish I could get the sound of having Longtubes and no cats, without actually having longtubes with no cats. Well now I have to find someone that wants to trade my Touring System for thier Pace Car system
