While I'm waiting for my warranty wheels to show up (Machined Face ZO6's again) I'm trying to polish up little details on the cars exterior. One thing that's haunted me since I got the wheels were the C6 flags on the center caps. Now, those flags are faded and look like butt. So I'm thinking of going this route: Paint them black, clear coat and all, then either leave black or put a silver C5 logo on them. Photoshop attempt for your viewing pleasure.

Another route I"m thinking is going with the chrome center caps with the engraved C5 logo. My only issue there is that they're knock-off's and don't have the proper flag emblems. But they still look ok.
Thoughts? Right now I'm leaning for the black simply because it'll cost me a can of paint and and a can of clear.
in the center it gives the wheels a industrial look and the blacked out center makes the wheels look much "lighter" and not as heavy.
Go for the black!!
I don't like the black. What are the current centercaps made of? Why don't you have the c6 logo machined off if they are metal. If they are plastic which I assume, can't you just place the C5 logo decal right over the C6 or is that one bigger?
The C6 flags on there are pretty big. Plus, I don't think I can get them off without doing some noticable damage to the plasti-chrome surface (Yeah, they're plastic).
I wouldn't have thought that I would like the black, but they blend well with your window tint. I think it would look great either way as long as you did a "clean" job painting the caps.
I think I'm going to try it out first with my current center caps, and if they don't work out to my liking, I'll go back to chrome. I should be able to get a pretty good finish on them if I take my time. The black will go with the setup on the car being that the insides of the spokes are black, the TPS retaining nuts were powdercoated black, the blackouts on the car, and as stated before, the tint. Oh yeah, the lower rear fascia will soon be black also.
I just wish I could find a center cap with a machined face to them like the rest of the wheels. If you're up close to them the center cap and face of the wheel don't match up and it bothers me.
