i will be getting a z06
well i have always wanted a z06, about 2.5 months ago i had a evo and i tried to get a z but no one was interested in the trade. so i traded a guy for a 04 cobra.. but the bad part is i have owned 4 mustangs and even though the cobra has 490 rwhp i feel like it is still my first mustang and i need a change.
the z is a 02 43xxxmi, silver and stock. It is what i want.
the bad is it will be slower than the cobra but thats ok i will love the car....

To get your Z making that same rwhp you will need to do a top end change.....but the flip side to it all, is you will be more aerodynamic, lighter, and will get the skirts to drop faster

The Vette may not have as much RWHP as the Ford, but I'll guarantee that you'll love it. It's just a much more complete car. It will absolutely drive circles around your previous ride on the track.

I just picked up a 03 Z06. The Z had 2,200 miles on it when I picked it up.
Red with Black int. One of My previous cars was an 03 Cobra, a fun car with lots of power. The sound of the supercharger made the Cobra more fun. But the Z is far better.

Hey I went from an 03 Dark Shadow Grey Cobra making 460rwhp to my 01 Torch Red Z06 and havn't looked back since. They are about the same speed due to the fact that my z0 has a mild cam, headers, intake making ~400rwhp. Although down 60hp, the weight difference and traction more than make it up. I suppose the way the cobra put the power down (immediate torque combined w/ the higher torque numbers) I couldn't get traction below 60mph. With the z0 I noticed considerably better traction and power top end. I will admit the cobra had a more "stick you in the seat" feeling than the z06 but going off just the speedometer you notice they are just about the same quickness.
My advice to you would be to do the trade and when you get enough money do a cam only setup to get you around 420-430 (with the bolt-ons of course) and you should see about the same quickness as your, I'm assuming ported blower cobra.
Not to mention as one people stated above the panties go down alot faster when driving a z0
