Default Dyno Tune -s- Computer Tune???

I only have a couple of mods:
1) X-pipe
2) CAI
3) Aftermarket exhaust

Now, is it better for me to get a computer tune done at a shop instead of getting a dyno tune done? I would just like to get better throttle response from a tune. Also, anyone know the price difference.

Thanks,
TonyP.

IMO, with the slight mods you have, I dont think you'll notice much change after a PCM tune. You can pick up a few HP even on a bone stock car after a Dyno tune though. I dont think I would spend the money on a dyno tune however, unless you have more plans for mods. Not saying that it wont help a little, but for 3-500 bucks, I would wait & do a few more mods.Did your exhaust include headers?

The answer depends on your future mods. If you plan to do future mods in the near future then I would hold off on a tune until you do your next set of mods.

If you plan on not doing any more mods then a street tune would benefit your the most. Sure our $99 tune that we offered at Carlisle this year will open up your car and give you more performance, but the $199 street tune we offer at the shop would even do more because we get to take your car on the street and make even more adjustments.

At your current mod level doing the $375 dyno/street tune just wouldn't be worth the money.

My friends mustang only had catbacks and air intake and he wasted his money getting a dyno tune. He gained like 3 HP or something like that over his diablo tune. He now has cams, heads, LT's, and intake manifold and after a dyno tune he saw his real gains. Frankly it's not worth the money to do it now.

Don't waste your money. Wait till you get headers. Even then I didn't gain much rwhp. David

I had Jeff at Carolina Auto Masters do a dyno tune with the computer. I had my 98' A4 tuned with a honker installed. I gained 14hp with all that Jeff did. He also adjusted the therm. fans to come on earlier and changed the shift points for a quicker response. It WAS worth the money as far as I was concerned.

Get the LT's, add in a few other go fast goodies....and dyno tune it.....when you buy more parts down the road, you can always get it re tuned and wont cost nothing but the time to re tune it......
