I have a 97 C5 and lately its seems its been one thing after another a water pump, AC system, wheel bearings, not to mention tires etc. Anyway I realize this is a 10 yr old car with 80K miles so I really cant complain. BUT I am really thinkin about a C6. I saw a web site called "leasetrader" where you can assume the lease of a car owner with no down payment just be credit worthy. I saw a C6 for $510 a month with 8 months left on the lease. I'm thinking about doing the lease to see if i really want a newer Vette. If not I walk away at the end but I've spent all that money on a lease and I could've repaired everything inside and out on the C5. What would you do?
Is your C5 paid off? Will you have the option to buy the car after the lease after the 8 months? Will you want to 4k to test drive a vehicle, when you can put that 4k into your C5 and make it better than the C6 as far as mods and looks......
DON'T DO IT I was taking with some dealers and other people about the same thing. You leas the car for a seat amount of time and then when time is up you can buy it. The bottom line is that you will and up spending a lot more $ either way if you want to buy it or just give it beck. If your C5 is paid off and you can afford the C6 just buy it look at the price there not that expensive any more, you can get a great lone probably zero APR on a low if any down payment.

Most Definitely, be sure to find out how many miles remain of those allowed by the lease contract. You may be given 8 months, but if you only have 4000 miles remaining before you hit the penalty that does you no good.
My opinion is that you should fix your car and keep it.
