Default My diff puked all over me.

I just got my first vette a few weeks ago, posted pics and all.

So I noticed that the diff was leaking. I read a ton of the forum posts on the diff. I figured I would drain the diff and put in redline fluid and see if that stopped the leak. Before I did that I also figured I would just check the level and see how far down it was. So I get the fill nut off, hear the puff and of air, ok good...... then bleeeeeeeeecccckkkkkk, fluid just comes pouring out... oh crap wheres the drain pan!!!!!!

I guess it was just a touch overfilled. Let just cross our fingers now.

Not over filled, you pulled the drain plug.

That's what's expected to happen.

The fill plug is up on the side, it's got a little tag hanging from it......

Were you checking with the fluid cold or hot? Just curious.

Mine did that also. I started haveing a leak and pulled the fill nut (not the drain plug). When I did I got a sucking noise and fluid started coming out. It was overful. I was pondering the 2.73 to 3.42 gear change for quite awhile. Well this made up my mind for me. Now the proud owner of the A4 3.42 Z06 differential carrier and couldn't be happier (well maybe with a few more mods I would be).
