I've read a lot of threads about lowering your vet with the stock bolts but I'm not so sure this is the proper way to do it. As with many mods, there is a right way and a less costly way (not necessarily wrong, just cheaper) way of doing it. I'm asking for advice on what would be the best way to go about lowering my car if you were going to spend some money. I've heard that coilover shocks are they way to go but I'd like to hear experiences from both camps.
If you do decide to lower it on bolts, take pictures and measure the gap between fender and tire prior to lowering. Good reference point in case you decide to return to stock height. Also, I would get new shocks of some kind before you do it as well. And then do your measurements of course.
IMO, go a little bit at a time. Give the car a week to settle in and see how you like it and look for issues. Then if you want to go lower go for it. Also cruise on over to Custom Corvette Accessories a forum vendor on here and pick up a set of rear lowering bolts from Chip, they work perfect and you will lower the car safely.
Thanks for the replies. So if I go with the coilovers I can lower the car and get better handling as well. Would I be able to lower the car by an inch using only the stock bolts?
