Is the hood insulation pad held on with just the plastic retainers or is there adhesive involved also on my '01 Z06? Thanks

Just those darn plastic clips. Took mine out and painted it. I used a bar-b-que fork to get them out, worked pretty well. Bought new clips at Autzone a pack of 3 was about $2.59. I broke most of the clips taking them out, but was able to save a few.

Just the plastic clips...
Before you put them back in dress them up with some chrome Faucet Hole covers...from Lowes or Home Depot.

Danco brand 1 1/2" O.D. Faucet hole cover # 80247 in the sink repair section....

Yep, just the plastic clips. Time to do a little painting on the hoodliner?

Just clips and you'll need to buy new ones.

Yes the barbeque forks works great, all of them came out in one piece and in good shape. Only stabbed my hand twice

Default Z06 stencile on hood pad.........

Great , no adhesive , thanks so much guys.
Good suggestion for the chrome trim rws.1.
I'm going to air brush Z06 over a 5"x 24" stencile in silver and red on the hood insulator pad. Much easier to do with the pad off the hood.
Actually the stencile is a vinyl decal that I bought on Ebay for $13 ( bought two so the shipping was consolidated). This vendor offers to make cutom sizes and designs. My next thought is to have a decal made for the inside trunk lid.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWN:IT&ih=004

My c5 Corvette hood insulation pad looks like it could use some cleaning.
I noticed you painted yours. I was thinking of trying this istead of buying a new pad. What kind of paint did you use. Is spray can paint good enough. I imagine you used flat black or flat charcoal. Please let know.
