Just those darn plastic clips. Took mine out and painted it. I used a bar-b-que fork to get them out, worked pretty well. Bought new clips at Autzone a pack of 3 was about $2.59. I broke most of the clips taking them out, but was able to save a few.
Great , no adhesive , thanks so much guys.
Good suggestion for the chrome trim rws.1.
I'm going to air brush Z06 over a 5"x 24" stencile in silver and red on the hood insulator pad. Much easier to do with the pad off the hood.
Actually the stencile is a vinyl decal that I bought on Ebay for $13 ( bought two so the shipping was consolidated). This vendor offers to make cutom sizes and designs. My next thought is to have a decal made for the inside trunk lid.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWN:IT&ih=004

My c5 Corvette hood insulation pad looks like it could use some cleaning.
I noticed you painted yours. I was thinking of trying this istead of buying a new pad. What kind of paint did you use. Is spray can paint good enough. I imagine you used flat black or flat charcoal. Please let know.
