Ok guys, one more time, im getting ready to buy these replica zo6 wheels off tire rack and i called them and they swear by them here is what scares me...they are made in china..sport edition wheels is what they are called does anyone have any experience with these.
Ok, have you been listening to the news lately? Mattel toys with lead in the paint. there have been several postings here on the forum regarding these Chinese wheels. If I were you, I would do a thread search here on the forum regarding these wheels and form an educated decision all your own. When I get the money saved up, I am doing an "exchange" for chrome through West Coast Corvettes for my thinspokes. I personally would not get anything made in China. I have seen posts here where they complained about inability to balance tires and vibrations and other such anomolies. Good Luck and let us know what you decide.
PS: any customer service reps will "swear" by them. Do they have them on their "own" C-5?

I agree with your sentiment but good luck with the reality of that statement. So very much of what we Americans buy and use in our daily activities is made in China that it scares the heck out of me. I've been guilty myself of buying Chinese in the past but not anymore if I can help it. As Americans we need to all be more aware of how much we are buying from them. The Chinese are presently doing what the Japanese did to us in the 70s...buying everything they can in the states (including gov't bonds) with money we give them for thier goods.
Well enough of the rant. I apologize for hijacking this thread so...I'm off to Walmart to buy some Indonesian made socks and T shirts.
Buy a set of american made CCW's...lol ok probably not in your budget right now, sorry, I would probably shop at a vendor here on the forum I have heard of some great deals on the type of wheels that you are looking for. And you will get better customer service from them I bet. Just my .02
The West Coast Corvette swap OEM for chrome plated OEM wheels is as good a deal as any purchase of aftermarket 5 spoke wheels (But you must have the same oem wheel to swap them). That is what I would do if I was going to go with a factory type wheel......I went with CCW, just save a little longer
