Default Can someone answer a cam question please...

Of these 2 choices, which one would work better with stock heads and an A-4 with a 3200 stall?

224/224 or 228/222

Sorry, don't know much about cams, but these were recommended.

224/224 58X 114 is the best cam going in my opinion. Really drivable. Beyond that, you start trading things like heat, stalling, spring life.

This is the type of cam I run in my blower car and it idles just fine

Thanks, is it a bit lopey or pretty much stock sounding? what I'm getting at is I would like it to sound a bit "cammed" - does that make sense?

You posted a 228/222 for the second choice. I take it you meant a 228/332. I run a cam with those specs, it idles at 750 RPMs, drives well in traffic and sounds really good. If you are planning on more mods in the future, I would go with the larger cam.

See you have a stall on your car. I would go with a england green kit. As i dont have the cash to do the stall at the moment i may end up going with something like a mti stealth cam and ls6 heads. It should still get me to my 400rwhp goal

That's my ultimate goal too: 400 rwhp, I can't do heads and a cam due to a lack of funds, so I'm going with a cam, but I think I'm going to be a bit shy, right now it's at 325 rwhp.

Ah well, baby steps I guess.

If you have a stall, you can go with a much larger cam than the one you mentioned. As far as "driveability" and "street manners" are concerned - it's all in tune.
