I've seen where some have used those chrome-looking "goof plugs" that they use on stainless steel kitchen sinks for covering unused faucet/sprayer holes. Available at your friendly local home improvement center. They put them over the wide head of the plastic retainer, and then fold the prongs over the head. Pop out one of the plastic retainers and use it to determine the right size.

Reason: Better explanation
OK now the million dollar question........why do they say drilling required???? And where are you drilling?
I know, if you are drilling out the hole bigger and just a slip and you are right through the hood I think the home improvement plugs is the way to go IMO cheaper too!
Just did the home improvement plug on mine.I had to trim down the plug to fit the 1 and 1/2 inch chrome plug.Cost $17.55.
You need 15 caps.
Hope this helps.

This was my idea. Very easy and cheap way of doing this. No drilling!!Cost is about $1.20 each a lot less than $75.00
Mine has been on there 2 years and look as good as the day I did it . A whole lot of corvette friends have done this. I was told that the "chrome " ,after a while or even when you put them on , cracks. The way I thought of , the piece is S. S. and will not peel.. here are some pictures.Hope this helps. Jim
One can find out anything - anytime. I was just doing my hood insulator and thought about getting something blingy for the retainers. Low and behold, someone already has it posted.
Thanks for helping spend my money!
