Default oops, my car rolled away.

i am lucky i didn't kill anyone.
i was on a long drive and stopped to use the rest room. SOP is to put the car in 3rd and go in. that's fine in Houston, TX and most other places but this day on this slope i guess i didn't have it all the way in gear or something and it slowly rolled backward down a hill. not more than 20 feet and came to a stop in some bushes. no damage and no real speed involved.

i have driven stick shifts for about 20 years and they have never rolled like this before.

Also, it never hurts to pull the parking brake.

I did that to my truck once (that is all it takes) kind of like a wake up call. I always give the eBrake a tug now.

It's due to all the super slippery synthetic lubricants we use in them...

May you never roll again and the lever closest to the passenger is the emergency brake, not the ejection lever like you thought....

3rd? Never heard of that before... You need the lower ratio of first or Reverse...

As a representative of the forum, I should take your car and try it out for a few years. I just want to make sure that it is ok. Would not want to see you get in any kind of trouble, you know.

i thought that was the "drift" lever?
you don't pull it hard and let it go when you make a corner?
