i believe the coupe had ant. in the windshield , and the vert is the only one with the power ant. , and the frc was built to be a less expensive and lighter car with fewer options . but i'm not positive

power antenna..............
Yes you can install a power antenna in a Z06 or FRC. Mid America part number for the complete power antenna conversion is 607083 ( their price is $199, but Ecklers is the same power antenna kit for $169).
The 1999 and 2000 FRC has the rear stick type antenna as come standard on the Z06. I have replaced stock antenna on my 2000 FRC and my 2001 Z06. No problem and it takes 2-3 hours for the first one you do.

Can't read the GM designers mind but the FRC was to be a bare bones Vette and the Z06 , of course was a weight issue.
