Jealous Cop
Got pulled over yesterday because, according to the cop, my exhaust is too loud. Is this guy f'n kidding me!? The best part is that I had barely reached 30 MPH as we had just left a light. He was directly behind me. Granted, at WOT, my car sounds pretty mean since the addition of the headers and loss of the cats. But 0-30 MPH with light throttle pressure? I figured he might be cool and just wanted to check out a nice ride. Nope. Just a complete A-Hole. I asked him how many ticket pads he goes through every day pulling over all the Harleys and imports with fart cans that make your teeth rattle as they try to sound really fast. No response, but in the end, let me go with a warning.

When I read your first sentence I was going to respond with the question about harleys but you already went that route. I can't imagine ANY aftermarket Vette exhaust being remotely as loud as 98% of the harleys I hear. But when did you ever hear of one of those guys being pulled over, never mind being ticketed, for their racket?
But then the cops aren't scared of Vette and Ricer drivers are they? Occasionally I try to wind up a cop on this subject but they will never be drawn into it. To me this proves my point.

Personally, I like cops. Maybe this is something he chooses to enforce on a regular basis, their broad discretion is often held back I'll wager.
