I purchased these "OE" wheels: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290155096097
and the tire people are saying the air sensors won't work and they'll have to put on some rubber valve stems because the old ones are leaking cause they don't work with the new wheels. Then he said one was stripped or some mess so I called the wheel co. and they said they are compatable and they never had a call about a problem with them.
Any ideas on how to remedy this? The tire place is complaining that it's tying up a bay and they're just gonna put on some rubber valves stems and make me deal with it later.
If the wheels were manufactured to OE specs, the sensors should fit. You can always add another o-ring and see if that seals the leak. I think they are bs-ing you.
from an earlier forum post where a member had an air leak with aftermarket wheels
Well the oversized o-rings worked. If anyone need the dimensions of the o-rings I used (Danco #31 0-ring 9/16”OD x 5/16” ID x 1/8” thick). Got them at Lowe’s and Home depot hade the same thing in the plumbing area. Also used a little 100% silicone Sealant for insurance.
