If a show is judged by the ballots of the participants the club with the most members at the show cars will win.
At some shows this is quite the ordinary practice. If everone there knows your name you win your class.
For me I do not care that much, I go to see the cars have a good time and have a serious session with some interesting people.
If I win something its just iceing on the cake.
if you go to a peoples choice if you do not have many friends forget it
some shows are very political who nyou know not what you have
some judged shows are based on how clean your car is and these shows are pretty fair
the main thing about going to shows is to have fun and you will
always meet some great people and have fun
What is considered a major mod, some ideas on this please.....
That would be like different wheels, hood change, body mods, etc. Minor changes would be like different valve caps or change of coil cover colors(on C5). Hope that gives you an idea. National Council of Corvette Clubs govern how we are to judge and they have guidelines available.
ther are those that are people's choice awards and that just depends on many buddies you have show up for the show and vote for you . the car shows i like do not have trophies , but they do have lots of car guys to visit with and that to me is the best part of anykind of gathering
As previously stated there can be alot of politics (cliques) at car shows, just get it as clean as you can and have fun. If you win it's icing on the cake. Good Luck (unless I'm there )
I have been going to shows for the last 25 years & politics play the biggest part in home town shows.
