Default Settle a bet for me..

If I put heads and cam in a 60K C5, have I done any work that's going to extend the life of my engine? (That would include gaskets and things that go with the change also)...

Thanks

I dont think you will extend your motors life...If anything you might make it shorter due the fact you will drive it harder.....Just cause you replace the top end, it will not make the bottom end any better......

Default Gaskets....don't forget the Gaskets!!!

You will have new gaskets! And I agree with the other posts in that you will be "exploring" the new performance capabilities of your new top end.

Default actually...................

Actually you have increased the pressure on the 'old' rings , since the new valves are sealing nice and tight. I would say just the opposite would be true , that the replacement parts may just reduce the engines (rings anyway) life.

you will love the way it runs with the heads and cam and I wouldn't even think about how long it will last. It doesnt matter. You will smile more every time you step on the gas.

"Everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die"...Same goes for performance. Unless you forge the bottom end just adding RWHP is goin to further stress internal parts. TNSTAAFL.
