If you are not regularly using a top tier gasoline (www.toptiergas.com) then injector cleaner or fuel system cleaner should be used at least once per oil change... IMHO.
Chevron is a top quality technology. Many refiners use their additives.

From the discissions on the forum, I bought Techron for my wife's car, a Z71 pickup, and my Z06. The truck has 160,000 miles on the clock and the difference was evident before the tank was even gone. ie: much better throttle response.
At the Carlisle technical seminar for c5/c6's, the lecturer (sorry, forgot his name) said that the Chevron w/Techron is the only one that has an ingredient that works and that the GM product you would buy at the dealer is just rebottled Chevron product sold at 3x the $$. He recommended a bottle every oil change as long as you are using top tier premium fuel.
He also said that your injectors shouldn't need cleaning unless the tech uses a specific device that actually measures injector flow and can print out the results showing the deficient injector(s).
I've noticed lately that Texaco is advertising they have Techron in their gas. I wonder if it's the same stuff that's in the Chevron gas. Does Standard Oil own Texaco?
A friend of mine told me that if you run SeaFoam through your intake (to clean your injectors) that it contaminates your oil, and should be changed afterterwards. Anyone else hear of this?

Chevron and Texaco have been one company now for awhile.
Merged in 2001.
