there is an access panel in front of the tire at the bottom of the wheel well. once the panel is off there are two or three screws that hold the light in place.

ah chit ... really? damn ... I just spent an hour taking off the shroud around the headlight, that screw under the hood, and trying to fit my bigass arms down in there. I was able to remove the bulbs but I knew there was no way I'd be able to get those screws out from up there. Even if I did get the screws out I knew I wasn't getting them back in.
I tried moving down the brake duct, which was easy as pie ... but unfortunately I can only fit about 1/4 of my forearm through there. I knew that wasn't going to do it.
hmm... maybe I'll grab something to eat and try again later ... now that I started I want to get it done

Did you have to take the tire off to get in through there? Even if I take that panel off just inside the wheel well I don't think my arm is going to fit in there.
In the ongoing effort to create a truly monochromatic look I got rid of the stock side markers this morning and replaced them with clear. I've got a set of clear rear side markers coming. I need to get the black inserts for the front and rear badges and then the only thing left not black, white or a little polished will be the tag.
How much Horsepower did you get from this mod?
I like the look by the way. I'm thinking of doing the same thing.

left my tires on and had the front end jacked up. When working on the left side I turned my wheels to the right and to the left when working on the right side, so the access to light was easy.
Thats pretty sweet. I am trying to decide if I want to go the all white and chrome way or do the black out thing. The black outs are illegal in ILL so I may just do the clear lenses. Maybe keep it looking stock......
Oh Well
Looking good though. White Vettes are the best!!!
they also have clear with black so that might be a compromise.
bear in mind that they're WAY more expensive than the others.

haha ... DUH, turn the wheels ... One of those brain fart moments. Thanks.

Is the panel you removed inside the wheel well to the front of the tire or is it on the underside of the car in front of the wheel? I tried removing the screws (4 i think) of a panel right in front of the wheel but that panel wasn't coming off .. unless there is something I missed, which is quite the possibility.
It looks like there might be a panel on the underside that can be removed but I would need to jack up the car.

I believe there is one or two screw on the underside of the car. you should be able to see the panel and follow the shape. I am in Chicago on the road working right now so I can't give you an exact anwser.

If you look straight down THROUGH your headlight, the access panel will be under it. In front of the wheel. My car is not jacked up at the moment so I cannot get you a picture of it. Should be approximately 4 10mm screws.
I took the headlight cover off and went through the top. There is an 8mm screw on the rear of the lense assembly. It's undeneath so you won't see it. Take that out. Remove the spring on the top of the lense. Going through the bake vent in front - use a deepwell 10mm socket to remove the front 10mm bolt.
