I recently had an A/C controller issue. For the first time, this Forum was not much help (always have been in the past) so I ventured out to find a solution. Simply when you turned down the driver side temp control (to make it colder) it would go UP to the max of 90 degrees. If you sat there and spun the dial long enough, it would go down to 60 and you could slowly bring it back up.

I found Carl Cowels through an E-bay search. He rebuilds digital dash components through his company "Digital Dash Solutions". I explained the problem and he said that the CPU in the control head was bad.

New control heads (dual zone digitals) cost about $300 and if the dealership does it you will be out about $500. He sold be a rebuilt one for $100 plus a refundable core charge.

I made the order and in 3 days had the unit. Did a search on the Forum and found the instructions to get the console and dash trip off and was able to swap them in about 40 minutes taking my time.

I have sent back my defective unit for the core charge refund. I found him to be very helpful via e-mail and on the phone and was quick in shipping the replacement.

I recommend if you have a digital problem with your dash, try him first for a rebuild.

Glad to hear you found an honest, reliable, vendor who does good work at a reasonable price. They seem to be rather rare these days.

I still say we need some kind of rating system. Both good and bad.
