This is not C5 related but I have a question for a friend and I know C5s have similar issues so maybe I'd get some good answers here.
A friends car is down about a quart or more at each oil change interval. But the plugs are clean when you pull them and there is no leaking on his garage floor and never any oil smell or blue or any tint to the exhaust. So where the heck is the oil going???

A quart being burned over that long of a period is not going to be enough to contaminate or foul spark plugs.
GM considers that normal....
LSx engines are notorious for generating oil mist in the rocker galley.
That oil mist carries over through the PCV and into the throttle body where it gets mixed with air and gets burned....
If there is enough carry over you can get carbon deposits on the valve stems and piston heads.
That is why many decarbonize their engines once a year. Others install an oil catch can in line with the PCV vavle to trap this oil and prevent the carbonization.
With the electronics we have now days the engine can burn up about any amount of oil. Ever notice the twin mag's on the top fuel and funny cars, they are able to really pour in the nitro, and keep it lit most of the time.
I change my oil once a year when I put it away for the season.
I put on about 5,000 to 6,000 miles per year.
I donot burn any at all between changes.
I run only Mobil 1 in it.
30,000 volts and a good catalytic converter will burn up just about anything. That is why the old cars would smoke, no cat and low voltage electronics.
