Has anyone used that spray to foil the red light cams?

I think I saw this on mythbusters ... all those products they sell to stop those cameras are pretty much bogus.

Yep if a lambo cant beat the camera im sure our vettes cant. They did have a clever plate mod to "trick" the camera but Im sure you'd go to jail. Me Id rather just get a ticket, or just stop at the red lights.

That stuff would kind of be like that spray on hair stuff they sell for a bald spot. If it does exist...it's a joke.

Wasn't planning on running any lights, was just wondering. In NYC it is very easy to get "caught in the box". I heard of the "using the brake ..or just stopping" concept. Have been using it for over 35 yrs actually.

Sorry if I offended you, I meant it as a joke.

I have administrative experience with red light camera systems. The city that I police had them for several years. They became too expensive for the city to justify. Yes that's right, they are not a money maker, the company that installs them makes the money.

Being caught in the box will not get you a red light ticket from a camera. You have to trip a contact prior to the intersection after the light has turned red. If it turns red after you are in the intersection the camera will not activate. This doesn't mean that you can't get a ticket if you get trappped in the box, just not from the camera system.

Just to be clear, this is Cal law and procedure that I am familiar with, but I don't imagine that NY law or process would be much different.

Just install your rear plate upside down, that will fool them.
