I know this has been, and still is a hot topic, but, I need a little help. I have read a lot of threads about the inexpensive HID kits from nissangtrpower on ebay. Lots of good things said about the kits for the cost. I have also read a lot on the "real" HID kits from Nate @ corvettegarage. Obviously there is a major cost difference. Nate's kit comes with new projector housings. Would Nate's be that much better considering the cost is roughly 6 times more? Can I get some thoughts from people from both sides? If you don't want to drag this out in a thread, just send me a PM or e-mail. I bet there are a lot of people that would like to know the same stuff. Searches open so many threads it is hard to sift through all of them for good, valid information. Thanks to everyone in advance. Looking forward to some info.
I installed the 6000k kit from nissangtrpower. The lighting is great, a really bright white that lights the road well. The only issues I am having is, sometimes you have to turn the lights on, off, on to get them to come up. I'm guessing it's because the lights draw such a low wattage, it is fooling the control module. Other than that, I am very happy with the kit. Maybe someone else will chime in with the solution to the on off on thing. Either way, you'll love the way they light up the night!
The corvettegarage kit is DOT complaint, so if you have state inspection that checks for that then you may want to go with that kit. The other advantages to the HID designed projector housing over the stock has been beaten to death, search is your friend.
one of the things that steered me away from the project for the time being is that you can't just get the projector housing and put your own HID kits in it. it looks like the projector setup comes with 4300k HID bulbs, I don't see any option for changing that on the web site. they are far too yellow for my tastes. I want 6000k at least, and I want them in both lows and highs. in order to get that with the projector it would cost alot more, and I'd have extra parts I had to pay for but have nothing to do with. I went with the bulb replacement mod for now, the improvement is awesome! I would still like to go with the projector one day, but for the time being it wasn't a reasonable option.

Good point about the state inspection, I bought an ebay kit and it works great; 6,000K for the low and fogs. As far as the projector kit goes, the only one I would personally get is the C5R fixed typed; I just like the 'look' better. Given the cost of any projector HID system, I will stick to my ebay HID, I love them.
It totally depends on what you're comfortable with paying.
The projectors are superior to the E-Bay products and are a CORRECT replacement for the headlights and you will have no issues with alignment.
The E-Bay kit is a make-do upgrade to HID and you will suffer with some "glare" or bright lights shining into oncoming traffic, this however is NOT blinding the other drivers (as some think).
I went for the E-Bay option because I couldn't justify spending nearly a grand on a set of headlights and I'm so happy with them. I was so pleased with them that 2 weeks after installing them I went ahead and ordered the fogs as well.
My advice would be to go with the projectors if you can afford it but if not go with the E-Bay kit.
Good luck in your choice, whichever ones you go with you're going to be so pleased with the upgrade over the stock POS!

i have the cheaper set that i got from a guy locally and i love them, unless you have a cash tree in the back yard the replacement hid bulb is the way to go,they are a great improvment over stock.
