My personal opinion is that the least expensive way to make a C5 exhaust sound better is to put on a used Z06 exhaust. You could do the exhaust mod to your C5 exhaust, but I would personally just spend a few extra bucks and get a complete Z exhaust. Not sure what the going rate is on used Z exhausts these days but they used to be easily had under $500.
