I am looking for a C5 Z06, either an '03 or '04. What, if anything, whould I look for so I don't get screwed. Are the '03's and '04's prone to any sort of problems I should be aware of? Any information would be helpful.
I would venture to say that the C5s you mention are very reliable for regular use. If you intend to race them, then you could have some of the issues mentioned by one forum member.
No big problems, however. No big diff between years mentioned.
Feel safe buying any year model.
Advantage of 04 is that you might find one that is eligible for GMPP. If car is still under fact warr, it is elig for GMPP. Better yet--if mileage is under 24,000 miles, you get a really cheap price on GMPP. I just bought a GMPP adding about 4 years and about 40k miles for $820. I wanted it so that when I go to sell car in 2 or 3 years, the buyer will have a comfort level.
Cheap ins.
Check out car thoroughly, espec for prior damage. Ask someone to assist you. Forum members are great at that.
