O.K. I just did a bonehead move. Drove for about 10 miles before I noticed the emergency brake was on. I generally don't use it but did this time. Couldn't have been on too hard cause I didnt notice any difference in driving. Did I hurt anything???
Ya know i did the same thing a couple times. Didn't seem to hurt anything, the worst that would happen is you will break your emergency break. Get it break your brake?!

Tell us. Wasn't that funny little light on the dash a clue?
I doubt if you hurt anything. If your parking brake (not to be confused with an "emergency brake") was not capable of preventing you from driving the car, you either did not have it applied much (as stated) or it's not working at all and needs adjusting. A properly working parking brake, when applied correctly, will make it damned near impossible to move the car.

Try pulling your parking brake handle up to about a 45 degree angle (or at least until "tight"). See if it holds/prevents the car from moving when in gear. A properly adjusted parking brake should be "all in" by 11 clicks. If not, it definitely needs adjusting. The good news is, once properly adjusted, it stays that way since it doesn't get used while rolling like the service brakes do and therefore does not wear out the brake lining.

You're welcome.
In case you want to look it up, try a search on the subject. There's a ton of posts on this.
I did mine myself several years ago, but in case you want to have it done, at least a little knowledge about the process will let you know what's going on. Never know, you might have a shop tell that your "conflamerator" needs replacing and try to zing you with a hefty bill.

Early on I kinda felt that way too at first. After having adjusted it myself a few years ago and having it be reliable ever since, I am happy with it. Use it every time I park.
Adjusting is quite easy. Back slowly down the driveway and pull on the E-brake to stop the car. Do this several times and it will adjust up where it should lock tight in 4-7 clicks. Kinda like the ole self adjusting brakes.
