I'm a friendly guy and normally always wave and smile back at people who acknowledge me when I'm driving my 360. I certainly wave back to drivers of exotic cars who wave at me, however I feel a sense of impropriety when a Corvette driver waves at me.
Am I being a snob? Thoughts like, "Does he think I'm driving a Corvette?" run through my head. "Doesn't that Corvette driver know this is a Ferrari?"
I've decided to make the world a better place and wave at everybody but I'd be interested in how you FChatters feel about this.
It's ok guys, Ferrari drivers tend to feel intimidated when one of our vettes drives up along side of them because they know they could very easily get eaten for lunch depending on what's under the hood of the vette. Many of our C5 vettes running around are very capable and at a fraction of the cost of a 360.

Similar to when a C5 trees up with a 5.0 Mustang? The mustang could be running 14's or it could be running 9's.
Do mustang drivers think the same way about corvette drivers? I don't wave at 5.0s, but if one waved to me I would surely return the favor.
I agree though, a 360 owner typically doesn't buy them for the performance... its more or less a statement of "hey, look what i can afford!"
I'm glad that 360 owner decided to make the "world a better place" by gracing us with his waves. I feel so blessed!
Who among us, would turn down a 360 if offered one?
Or a Viper?
Or a Shelby Mustang?
Can't speak for you guys but what makes my socks go up and down is a big ***** motor that can push my fat butt through the seat, goes around curves like it's on rails and looks good.
Don't much care what little fifty cent piece of metal is on the nose of it.
A Corvette is the best I can do for the money I've got, but if I win the lottery, there will be more in my garage than a C5 (but there will be Corvettes!).

There's a red Ferrari in my neighborhood and quite a few times i have been in front or behind him going home . Once when i was trying to get on our street and no one was letting me in, he stopped and let me in. Now whenever we see each other we always wave.

I disagree... that's lambo buyers you're thinking of. Seriously though... most Ferrari owners are through and through car nuts who really appreciate the heritage and performance and everything that is a Farrari. Sure many C5s could beat various Ferraris at the strip and on the road course, I've done it. But at the end of the day one is a Ferrari and one is not. If you do not value those things that make a Ferrari special, then that is fine, but don't knock the people that do.
It'd be like saying you get scared when a 10 second turbo Honda pulls up next to you... I hardly doubt it. Yes that car may be faster but it doesn't have the heritage or overall driving experience that a Corvette does.

Somehow I doubt it... I'd be willing to guess the guy driving his 360 spyder down Pacific Coast Highway could give two ****s about most any vette

I don't view the exotics as a cars that I can put 2000 miles on in a weekend. one guy at the forum posted that he drove the heck out of his Ferrari: 3,500 miles in 10 weeks. what a joke.
and I've seen 3 of them burn to the ground with the motors blowing up. nice cars just not for me. I think the keoingstegg (spelling?) is much more interesting for a car that I couldn't drive very often. or the zonda. never really saw the attraction to a ferrari or lambo.
I have absolutely no interest in any car that I can't drive all day long. I also don't think the exotics could go the places I like to drive with out falling apart or breaking down. see my snow pics for an example. I've taken my vette down many a dirt road in the 90k miles I've put on the clock.

^ An exotic owner doesn't take his car in the snow or mud because he doesn't have to or want to. The car is more of an investment and I wouldn't do it either.
Modern exotics are completely reliable... new Ferraris have chain driven timing and do not require the increased service of an 8000+ rpm motor w/ timing belts anymore.
One Enzo owner in Utah daily drive his in a mission to hit 100,000 miles. He had 35k on it when a magazine tester totalled it.

yes one of my former clients got the 360, put a few thousand miles on it in about 2 years then sold it for more than he paid. I haven't been able to get any info on the reliability of the ferraris or lambos. that's why I was looking on the ferrari forum in the first place. - I will stick with real estate for investment's although if i had large amounts of expendable income no telling how it would go. still really like the keoningseggs (spelling?) though.
