Im in need of a new set of tires. I am either going to go with the stock Good Year Super Cars or Michelin PSII's. My question is which tire hooks up better in stock sizes. Ive had the psII's on my 19" ccws but i assume they will hook better with 18"s. If i compare the 2, the Good Years hook better from my experience but then again they werent in the same sizes...has anyone had both combos...? what do you think was better?
100% the PS2's, I dont know how thats even a question. I have them on my 19"s and they work Amazing. I have never had a set hook up as well as these tires in the dry when they get a little hot. I think that the goddyears are awful tires. They some stock and mine were fried off in no time. The PS2's though, are hard to spin for me and im running low 11's.Just my .02

well from my experience with the psII's with my 19" ccws they spun way more than the good years on my stock wheels... so its got me wondering if the side wall is making that much of a difference. what i did notice is that the psII's dont pull like the good years but the good years seem to keep the power to the ground better...but then again like i said i didnt have the psII's on the stock 18" wheels
I've had the SC's and am currently running PS2's. I'd say they are pretty equal for normal to very spirited street use. Cornering and traction very similar. Tire Rack's tests say the PS2's are quieter and better in the wet.
just go with a DOT racing tire and be done with it, no more "traction" issues
On an honest note I wouldn't go back to the super car tires. They were ok tires but I had issues with them when it came to "spirited driving" and getting them to hook at the strip. Some other people may have had better experience than me but I never cared for them.
I've heard the PS'2 are hit or miss depending how hard you drive. Some people love them and others are looking elsewhere
go to tirerack.com for prices.........Maybe I just got lucky with my PS2's on the 19's.....when theyre hot, i can stand on it in 1st and they wont spin!
I put a new set of Eagle F1 GS-D3's on my Z06 3 months ago and I couldn't be happier! The F1 Supercars had 18K on them and still had some tread left, but man were they slipery.....very scary to drive on.
Maybe they were glazed and at the end of their useful life? I bought the Z car last March so in fairness I never drove on new F1 Supercars.
The F1 Supercars would frighteningly pull the car right or left on semi truck ruts in the highway but the Eagle F1 GS-D3's don't seem to exhibit that problem.
Since putting the Eagle F1 GS-D3s on, the car hooks up like crazy with very little wheel spin and no sideways, rear kick out feel, just quick acceleration. Drove it at Mid Ohio and the tires were fantastic, great grip and very smooth at 130 mph.

I found this article helpful while researching new tires for my Z06. As my previous posts mention, I'm very happy with my choice. The PS2s had a great review as well but were a bit more $$. I've found Michelin's do tend to wear better and last longer than most tires but I won't put that many miles on my car to notice.
